Pleasant View 10th Ward Relief Society Christmas Dinner

On Wednesday, November 29, 2023, the sisters of the Pleasant View 10th Ward gathered at the church to celebrate with the annual R.S. Christmas Dinner.  A good time was had by all.  I serve on the committee and suggested getting the dinner catered from the Olive Garden.  Everyone loved it!  It was so fun to see everyone wearing their ugly Christmas sweaters and visiting with one another.  Jennifer gave a beautiful message and it was just a good night.

Aubree, Pam and I set up at the tables and chairs around 9:30 a.m.  Janet Nelson came to help for about a half hour.  Then we all met again at 4:30 p.m. and finished decorating and getting things ready.  Pam picked up the food at 5:30.  We had a half hour in-between, so I delivered Christmas gifts to friends.  Then we went back to the church and got the rest of the food and desserts ready.

Olive Garden does such a great job of packaging things up for us.  Everyone enjoyed the soup, salad, and breadsticks, as well as the desserts.  It was a fun night overall.

Christmas at the Cemetery

On Tuesday, November 28, 2023, I decorated the cemetery for Skyler and Mom.  It looked so nice.  I wanted to beat the snowstorms that are predicted at the end of the week.

Christmas 2023

On Saturday, November 25, 2023, we started decorating for Christmas.  I put up decorations in the front room and around the house, then we put up Skyler's tree.  We decided that we would put up our big tree on Sunday evening.  I love the Christmas season!

Grandma Great Turns 90 Years Old!!!

On Friday, November 24, 2023, Eva Hilton Williamson Preece turned 90 years old.  She had been so sick for a few days.  She insisted that no one come over.  We got up and I made German Pancakes for breakfast.  We ate and got ready for the day.  Around 1:00 p.m., we went to her house to sing Happy Birthday to her outside.  Keith and I visited with her for about an hour and then we went home.  I was sad that we couldn't celebrate with cake and balloons, etc.

On Sunday, November 26, 2023, Brandon and Chad visited grandma.  They brought her the balloon arch that they had made for her.  It turned out so nice.  Dawn had given grandma a blanket.  So nice.

90 is a huge milestone.  I am glad that grandma knew how much she is loved.

Thanksgiving 2023

Dusty, Jamie, and the 6 kids arrived in town on Wednesday.  The girls came and stayed with us while the guys, plus Skyler stayed at the Olson's.  I made homemade chicken noodle soup.  We ate dinner and hung out.  Keith and I got the turkey ready.

Thursday, I made muffins and eggs and then everyone went to the movies to see the new Hunger Games 4th movie.  I stayed home and got things ready for dinner.  We had dinner at 5:00 p.m.  It was delicious. Our menu consisted of: Turkey, Ham, Potatoes and Gravy, Stuffing, Cranberries, Olives, Rolls, Cranberry Salad, and Sweet Potato Casserole, and Green Bean Casserole!  My personal favorite was Jacque's fudge!

We played "What if"..and Psych with everyone.  We had a good laugh. We opened our special ornaments. Then we watched movies downstairs.  It was a good night! We wished Braxton could have stayed and celebrated with us.

Everyone seemed very happy with the ornaments that I had selected for each of them!  It was a short Thanksgiving visit, but a good one!
