Spending the day with friends...

My Friday morning started out with breakfast at Kneader's with Sonja Green.  We have been friends for years and it was so fun to finally get together and catch-up.  Sonja is so talented and she made me dishtowels for the holidays.  So fun!

After breakfast, I went home.  Keith was napping.  I woke him up and he got showered.  Dave and Vicki came over and we visited with them for a few hours.  They gave us a game and an apple pie plate for Christmas.

We enjoyed our visit with the Espinosas.  Then Norm and Maurie showed up with dinner.  They brought Panda Express and we ate and visited.  It was so good to catch-up and see them.

We enjoyed our visit and meal with Norm and Maurie.  We feel blessed to have such wonderful friends.
It was a fun day!

Christmas 2024

Keith and I had a quiet Christmas Eve dinner; just the two of us.  I made our usual spread, missing pie and cranberry salad.  It was wonderful.  I cleaned up the dishes and we watched a movie.

Jamie sent a few pictures from their Christmas Eve.

Christmas morning, I woke up early and made breakfast casserole.  We woke up to snow.  We face-timed with Jamie and the kids.  We watched Skyler open her American Girl doll.  She loved it!

I cleaned up the kitchen and then around 1:00, decided to take an hour nap.  I was so tired.  I slept very sound.  Then we got up and got ready to go visit Eva at the care center.  Brandon and Chad visited her first, and even got her to go to the lobby.  Brandon sent a picture of the two of them by the tree.

Chase and his family had just come to visit grandma when we arrived.  We went down to the dining room and visited for a bit.

We came back home and reheated the leftovers from Christmas Eve dinner.  It was yummy.  We watched a couple of movies.  It was a quiet but good day.

Happy 43rd Birthday Skyler!

December 18, 1981 will always be a special day.  It is the day that our son Skyler Keith Preece was born.  We sure do miss him.  This year was especially hard with Skyler being gone for 18 years and Skyler's son being 18.  It really hit us hard.  We are so grateful for the 24 years we had with our son.  We couldn't have asked for a better son.

Happy Heavenly Birthday Skyler.  We love you and miss you!

WSU Presidents Office/VP Office Christmas Party!

On Sunday, December 15, 2024, we gathered at Sherri and Robert Cox's home for our annual President's Office/VP Office Christmas Party.  Normally, I host the party.  But with Keith's recent surgery, I wasn't able to do it.  Sherri volunteered and we had a ball.

Sherri cooked a ham, potatoes, rolls, and salad.  Jodi brought appetizers and Robert made his quest dip and chips.  We had sodas and desserts.  It was wonderful.

After we had dinner, we played games!

We ate dessert after the games and we took a group picture.  Fun times were had by all.  We missed Keith.

Amaryllis

Shirley and Carlyle Bowers gave us an Amaryllis plant for Christmas.  I had never heard of this before.  It has a waxy bottom.  I set it in my window and everyday we would watch and wait for it to bloom.  It was finally in full bloom.  So pretty.

So beautiful when fully in bloom.

First Big Snowfall!

On Friday, December 13th (Friday the 13th), we woke up to the first big snowfall of the season.  We got approximately 5-6 inches of snow.  Rebel was the only one of us excited about it.  I was grateful that I didn't have to drive in it.  I ended up shoveling that evening--enough for us to get out of the driveway.

Winter is finally here!

I Hosted December's Bookclub!

On Thursday, December 12, 2024, I hosted our December bookclub.  I ordered chicken nuggets from Chick-fil-A, and then made a veggie tray.  I also baked sugar cookies and made Christmas Crunch.  All of the ladies brought yummy snacks.  I also made hot chocolate and had candy canes, peppermint marshmallows.  Very Yummy!

Carmen gave us socks and cocoa.  Carma gave us a cute glass cup with a straw and full of candy. Kim and Pam gave us a popcorn tin.  Julie and Kristi gave us hand soap and candy.  I gave everyone candy apple jam, dried apples, peeps and a cute bookcase ornament with their name on it.  It was a fun night.

Getting Ready for Christmas!

On Monday, Dec. 2, 2024, I decorated the cemetery.  On Tuesday, we finally put up Skyler's Christmas tree.  With the craziness of Keith's upcoming surgery, we decided to only put up one tree this year.  We added all of our new ornaments to Skyler's tree that we got on our trip to Europe.  It turned out nice.
