Lunch with the Vandemerwe's...

On Wednesday, March 27, 2024, I met JT, Kaylee, Lacey, Maizie, and J.J. at Zuppas in Riverdale for lunch.  I think it has been at least a year since I have seen them.  I couldn't believe how grown-up the kids are.  Kaylee and JT looked great too.  It was so fun to visit with them and catch up on their lives.  I sure do. miss them.

They loved the Chocolate Marshmallow Easter Eggs with their names on them.  Mrs. Cavanaugh's never disappoints.  We laughed for hours and then they headed to their grandma's in Kaysville.  Sure do love this family!

Steven and Nicole's Baby Shower...at WSU

On Thursday, March 21, 2024, I attended the baby shower for Steven and Nicole Richardson.  Nicole flew in from Memphis, TN for the shower before she can't travel anymore.  It was so fun!  Sherri did an amazing job catering the shower and everything was perfect.

We had a potato and salad bar.  Sherri thought of every topping possible.  So yummy.  She had fruit, rolls, and desserts as well.  

We played the Price is Right - Baby Edition.  And I won!  I was so happy to see my prize.

It was so fun to see everyone.  Nicole and Steven were so happy.  Can't wait to meet the baby!

St. Patrick's Day Dinner at the Thornton's...

On Sunday, March 17, 2024, we attended church.  When we got home, I baked sugar cookies to take to neighbors.  They turned out great!  Later that evening, we had a traditional Irish dinner with Dale and Jacque.  It has become a tradition the past several years.

We had salad, rolls, corned beef and cabbage, and carrots.  We had chocolate ice cream for dessert.  It was great!  We love this tradition!

Pi Day at Weber State!

On Thursday, March 14, 2024, I attended Pi Day at Weber State!  It has become a tradition we have participated in for years.  As always, there were wonderful pies to choose from!  I didn't get a picture of the yummy BBQ pizza pie that Sherri provided via the Pie Pizzeria.  Yum!

It was so fun to visit my old office and third floor.  I stayed almost 3 hours.  Felt like home!

I was so full!  The pies were great!  Then I went home and Keith had brought me a piece of chocolate pie from Maddox!  Yum!  My favorite.  

Keith had a Reese's pie.  It was wonderful too!  I love Pi Day!

Empty Nesters at Biscuit and Hogs

On Monday, March 11, 2024, we had dinner with our Empty Nester's Group at Biscuit and Hogs.  I had heard of this restaurant before, but I had never eaten there.  I was blown away at the portion sizes!  Holy Cow!

I didn't love the chicken and waffles.  The chicken was more like chicken strips and not fried chicken.  The bourbon syrup was not my favorite either.  Keith liked his dinner.  I think most of the group liked their dinners.

Reno Grandkids Prom

On Saturday, March 9, 2024, Kamryn and Brady went to their Senior Year Prom.  Kamryn was supposed to go to prom with Ryan Wilson, but unfortunately Ryan had a skiing accident and had to have surgery.  She went with friends instead.  I am not sure who Brady went to Prom with.

California Trip with Kamryn's Dance Team Day 3

Day 3 started out early.  We got up and got ready for the day.  We were supposed to meet Ms. Robal at 8:30 in the parking lot to walk to Disneyland.  Morning Kamryn has a difficult time getting going.  But we made it and we walked to Disneyland and got group pictures before she let the girls loose to do their own thing.  It was raining lightly again.  At least we dressed a little bit warmer.

The first ride in Disneyland that we went on was Indiana Jones.  We were so close to getting on the ride, and the ride broke.  It was shut down for hours.  We got a raincheck to go on the ride later.  We next went to Pirates of the Caribbean.  

Next Jamie and Kami went on the Star Wars ride.  I bummed around while they were on the ride.  I got my picture taken in front of the castle.  

Jamie and Kamryn went to ride Space Mountain.  I waited in front of the restaurant until it was time for our reservation.  We ate lunch at the Cafe New Orleans.  I treated us to the Monte Crisco Sandwiches.  The best at Disneyland.  

We walked over to California Adventure and rode the cars ride.  It was fun!  

We went back to the hotel and rested for an hour and a half.  We needed to rest.  We walked back to the park and connected with Kamryn.  We rode Soaring over California at California Adventure.  Then we went to Disneyland and we rode the thunder mountain ride.  I got off and felt like I was going to throw-up.  I decided to sit on a bench and take it easy while Jamie and Kamryn went to ride Indiana Jones and Space Mountain.  

I got to see the fireworks show.  It was a good one.

We rode It's a Small World.  Then Jamie and Kamryn went back to Space Mountain.  I waited on Main Street for them and then we went to get ice cream!  We walked back to our hotel.  We were so tired.  I felt like my legs, feet, and hips were going to fall off.  

I got my suitcase ready and packed the things I could so it wouldn't be so crazy in the morning.  I had to catch an uber Monday morning at 6:30 a.m. in order to make it to the airport in time.  Once again, the drag races lasted a while.  I finally went to sleep and got up early and headed to the airport.  It was such a fun trip.  I am so glad that I got to go.  I got home early afternoon on Monday.  I was exhausted.  

The girls performed for the parents because most of the parents didn't get to come on the trip.  It was a nice way for them to see their routines for the competition.  They ended up taking home three trophies.
