Jamie sent us pictures of the kids going to Homecoming. The theme was the Wizard of OZ. The kids looked great! It is hard to believe that they are old enough to go to Homecoming.

Colette Mortensen's Wedding
Do you remember...the 21st of September...
What a perfect day for a wedding! Colette Mortensen and Lucas Stevens were married in the Ogden Utah Temple. They had a beautiful garden reception. There was a band and the theme was black and white - formal wedding. Brooks had a great time chauffeuring people to and from their cars in the Weberlicious golf carts.
Steve Weaver's Funeral
Saturday, September 21, 2024, we celebrated the life of Steve Weaver. His funeral was a wonderful tribute to a life well lived. There were so many beautiful floral arrangements. I wish I would have gotten pictures of them. I dropped off my two cakes for the luncheon and then Keith and I went to the visitation. I was able to catch-up quickly with two friends from high school. (Kirk Pace and John Thorpe). They are both Joni's cousins.
The services were so nice, just the right amount of talks and music.
Keith and I are so grateful for our friendship with Joni and Steve. Rest in Peace Steve!

Steve Weaver Passed Away...
Steven C Weaver graduated from this life on September 14, 2024. He was our strength and stay…our hero. We will miss him every minute of every day.
Steve was born in Ogden, Utah on December 27, 1949. His parents, John Green Weaver and Marcell Cowley Weaver, always teased him that he was a great tax deduction that year! When Steve was three, his family moved to Redwood City, California where he was blessed to grow up in a joyful, loving home. Steve was always a hard worker. As a boy, he had a paper route and enjoyed riding through the neighborhood perfecting his left-handed throw. He would smile when he told us about the rewards that came at either end of the paper route- the freshly baked donuts and the candy store. In 1964 Steve saved his paper route money to attend the National Boy Scout Jamboree at Valley Forge.
When Steve was a sophomore in high school, his family moved into a new home in Roy, Utah. While attending Roy High, he met Joan (Joni) Batchelor, who became his forever love. After graduation Steve served in the Australia West Mission. Upon returning he enlisted in the Utah Army National Guard. Steve and Joni were married in the Manti Temple on December 2, 1971. He graduated from Weber State University in 1975 with a degree in Business Administration and a minor in accounting.
Steve’s first job was in Yakima, Washington, and as he advanced in his career, Steve and Joni moved to Redmond, Washington, where they were blessed with a son, Jason and a daughter Kristen. His career took the family to Sacramento, California, and Hudson and Loveland, Ohio, where Steve worked as an assistant to the IRS Regional Commissioner. In 1994, Steve accepted a position as the IRS Chief Employment Officer in Ogden. They built a home in Pleasant View where he enjoyed many hours perfecting their beautiful yard.
Steve loved and served his family. Fond and happy memories were created at the family cabin in Island Park, Idaho. Steve spent joyful hours teaching grandkids to float the river, fish, and roast the perfect marshmallow. Island Park was Steve’s favorite place and he knew exactly where to take the grandkids for a fun RZR ride.
At home in Pleasant View, many mornings found him at Kristen’s home cooking breakfast for his grandkids before driving “Grandpa’s Bus” to school or chauffeuring them from school or to and from their many other activities. Steve was the rock, the voice of reason, the place where our family could always get love, comfort, and level-headed advice.
Steve loved and always faithfully served our Savior, Jesus Christ. He served as executive secretary to the Seattle Mission Presidency, scoutmaster, High Councilman, Bishop, and in many other callings. He served a two-year Ogden Transit Mission and he and Joni were blessed to serve as Ordinance Workers in the Ogden Temple.
Steve is survived by his beloved wife, Joni; son, Jason (Anne) Weaver; daughter, Kristen (Jed) Haacke; and his much-loved grandchildren, Celeste, Bannon and Daria Weaver; Collin, Addy, Tanner and Emmy Haacke; and by his sisters, Carolyn (Dennis) Shirley, Jeanne (Steve) Anderson, and Janis (Richard) Wardleigh.

Colette Mortensen's Bridal Shower
On Saturday, September 14, 2024, I attended Colette Mortensen's Bridal Shower. I was unaware that there was a "Breakfast at Tiffany's" theme. I just so happened to be wearing black, so it worked okay. There were other guests who were not aware as well, so I didn't feel too bad.
The host had a beautiful backyard setting. The weather was perfect. The shower was held from 10-12, just right for a breakfast shower.
It has been so fun to see the Mortensen children grow into adults. We sure do love their family!
Peaches...Peaches...Peaches
I love peaches. Thank heavens for friends who are willing to share their peaches with us! I worked on freezing peaches for 3 days. I also made a batch of Jalapeño Peach Jam. I cut the sugar in half and it didn't set up all the way, so it is now jalapeño peach spread. It will be good with cheese and crackers.

On Tuesday, September 3, 2024, I switched the decorations from summer to fall at the cemetery. I love the vibrant colors of fall!
I stopped by Dale's grave and talked with him a minute. I asked him to help Jacque soften her heart and forgive us and bring her comfort.
