Keith and Anita's 47th Wedding Anniversary

Friday, February 14, 2025, Keith and I celebrated our 47th Wedding Anniversary!  We were planning to spend the night in SLC at the Grand America Hotel, but the big snowstorm on Thursday, made us change our minds.  It would be difficult to navigate around SLC in the ice, snow, and wet weather.

We took our time getting ready for the day.  We stopped by the Audiologist Office to fix Keith's hearing aid, and then we stopped by the Rotech store to check out new masks for Keith's CPAP.  Then we went to eat an early dinner at the Outback Steak House.

Timing is everything and boy did we luck out.  By the time we left the restaurant close to 5:00, the place was packed.  People were lined up outside and everywhere there was an open space in the restaurant.

I had the filet mignon and it was melt in your mouth good.  The Outback has always had perfect steaks, cooked exactly how I like them.  The meal was delicious.  We came home and rested.  I read my book and watched a little TV.  Then we watched the movie, "Fly Me To The Moon."  It was good.  Here's to many more.

Empty Nesters at Maddox

Every February for the past several years, our Empty Nester's Group has met at Maddox, hosted by Sherry and Bob Jolley.  Sherry goes all out decorating the banquet room and making sure we all have a nice treat, as well as dessert.  Our food was fabulous as always and we had a great time.

Visit with Sherri on her birthday!

Sherri stopped by to give me my birthday gift and I gave her her gift.   February 11, 2025 is her birthday.  She had lunch with her mom and sisters, so she didn't get to join us.  She said that Robert was making something for my birthday, so I would have to wait for the second half of my gift.  She gave me a box of Cherry Cordials from Mrs. Cavanaugh's.  It was great to visit with Sherri and catch-up on things.  I love her new haircut.

Lunch with Norm, Amy, and Jodi

On Tuesday, February 11, 2025, we met at Great Harvest for lunch.  Norm treated us all to lunch to celebrate mine and Amy's birthdays.  Lunch was wonderful.  It was snowy and cold outside, so soup and sandwiches did the trick!  I couldn't meet with my friends without bringing them sugar cookies for Valentine's Day.

Russell Johnson's Celebration of Life

On Sunday, February 9, 2025, I attended the Celebration of Life for Russell Johnson.  Russell and I were very close growing up.  I am so sad that he has passed.  The Celebration of Life was held at Red Butte Gardens.  Cara said he spent a lot of time up here hiking and walking the trails.  He loved being close to the mountains out in nature.

Jason, Nicole, and Cara gave wonderful tributes to Russell.  There was a light brunch served.  It was very nice.  It was so good to connect with so many of my cousins.  I wanted to capture the moment in pics.  It was such a nice celebration.  I think Russell would be happy.

Brynn Murdock's Baby Shower

On Saturday, February 8, 2025,  I attended a baby shower for Brynn Mortensen Murdock.  She is the daughter of Camille and Brad Mortensen.  We have known Brynn since she was little.  She is such an amazing woman!

The shower was held at the Mortensen Residence.  Everything was top notch!

 

The spread was wonderful.  Several different types of salads, fruit, croissants with jelly and sugar cookies.  So yummy!

We had to say hello to Brad and Benny!  They were hanging out watching the game!  As soon as Benny saw Jeanette (Camille's mom), he jumped on her lap.  Benny loves his grandma!  So cute!

It was a fun day celebrating Brynn and the baby!  Sure do love the Mortensen Family.

My 68th Birthday!

My birthday week celebrations started on Friday, January 31, 2025.  I had lunch at the Olive Garden with my Greenbriar Besties.  It was so fun to catch up with them.  I hadn't seen Tori in years.  So fun!  And we got the fun news that Becky is going to be a grandma in August!

Monday, Feb. 3, 2025.  Jana, Jeri, and Becky treated me to ice cream at Farr's.  We had ice cream and a good visit.  

On Tuesday, February 4, 2025, I had lunch with Chersti at Kneaders.  It was fun to catch-up and eat.

After lunch I came home.  I rested for a minute.  Jana stopped by and brought some Russell Stover Chocolate Marshmallow Hearts for me.  And Jacque left a card and Cinnamon /hearts for me.

Maurie Rydalch brought over pumpkin bread; she and her daughter are my new ministering sisters.  Then, Wilma Chadaz came.  Wilma brought jello, cookies, soap, dishtowels and candy.  We had fun visiting and we looked at the book I made from our trip in September/October.  

Then LaRee and Kevin came, with a cake and Cafe Rio food.  Jamie and Dusty had arranged to have Cafe Rio for us and LaRee was kind enough to make a cake for me.  It was delicious.  We sent some cake home with Wilma for her and Vance.  Black Forrest Cake is her favorite too.

After Wilma left, we ate dinner.  It was wonderful.  Then we had dessert.  Keith had gone to Farr's earlier and got a gallon of Spumoni Ice Cream for me (my favorite).  We FaceTime called Jamie and wished her a Happy Birthday.  Then we took a selfie, and then Kevin and LaRee went home.

I feel incredibly blessed to have such wonderful friends and family.  I had a wonderful day.
