On Saturday, June 28, 2025, Hutchison Rhees and Flavia de la Cruz got married at the Huntsville Mercantile in Huntsville, Utah. It was a very hot day for an outdoor wedding. Upper 90's and humid. The ceremony was about a half hour late getting started, and we were melting in the sun.

Norm's Farewell Lunch at Taco Time!
Thursday, June 26, 2025, I picked up Norm, Jodi, and Amy at Weber State. We planned to meet at Taco Time on Harrison Blvd. for a last lunch together before Norm retired. It was so fun! I left my house extra early and arrived at WSU about 20 minutes early, so I just told them that their "Chariot Had Arrived."
We ate lunch and laughed and caught up on all things. Then we took a picture. Norm has been such a good sport all these years when we've taken pictures. Jodi and Amy trusted me to take a selfie of all of us. I am not great at taking selfies. I kept feeling like my face was so big in the picture. What a dummy! We had a good laugh!
The expression on Norm's face is priceless! Norm also had to bring up how well I parked!!! It's a standing joke in our office. I sure do love these folks! Good Times!

Spending Time with Friends...
On Thursday, June 19, 2025, Keith and I, along with Wilma and Vance Chadaz, traveled to Salt Lake City to have lunch at Siegfried's Delicatessen. We enjoyed a wonderful meal and then we headed to Trader Joe's to get some goodies. It was a fun afternoon.
On Friday, June 20, 2025, Ned Stephenson, one of Keith's co-worker friends, brought us lunch from Jimmy John's. Keith and I made homemade peach ice cream earlier in the morning. We had it for dessert. Keith had a great time catching up with Ned.
Later that evening, Kolby and Bailey Nye, along with their two girls, stopped by for a visit. The girls had fun playing with the little people castle and of course, some bears. They had some peach ice cream and we visited. It was so fun to see how well they were doing. They are heading to Alaska on Saturday morning. It has been a busy week, but fun to catch-up with friends.

Norm Tarbox Is Retiring...
On June 30, 2025, Norm Tarbox will be officially retiring. When I retired, Norm told me, "I should have gone with you." I think he was looking forward to retirement and here it is! Norm did not want a lot of "hoopla" so he opted for a dinner at the Mandarin Restaurant in Bountiful on Tuesday, June 17th with his direct reports, and PC members. It was a fun evening. The food was delicious. The menu included:Chicken Soong Imperial Lettuce Wraps as the appetizer. The main course included: Sweet and Sour Almond Chicken, Beef with Green Beans in Black Bean Sauce, Mongolian Pork, Spice Girl Chicken and Vegetarian Fried Rice. For dessert, we had Raspberry Cheesecake Ice Cream with Chocolate Sauce, Berries and a Cookie of Good Fortune!
We enjoyed our meal, and while dessert was being served, a few of Norm's staff presented him with gifts. Dane/Seth went first. They presented Norm with a beautiful Plaque with appreciation from the Police Department. Dane did a great job honoring Norm and he even got a little choked up while he was presenting.
Next Mark presented Norm with a signed baseball. The Frame on the Baseball Stand said, "Norm's Team." Such an appropriate gift for a former baseball player. He also presented Norm with a framed picture of the different projects that Norm finished on campus.
Next Sherri Cox presented Norm with a few gifts. She read a poem that she wrote and presented him with a solar light for camping, a zip line to hang things on, and a colored light sparkles to throw in a campfire. Sherri also presented Norm with a book of the 9 months he served as Interim President 2018.
