On September 27, 2025, President Russell M. Nelson, age 101, passed away.  The world is mourning this man, our beloved prophet, who served as the 17th President in the 195-year history of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints since January 14, 2018.

"Leaf Peeping" at Snow Basin Ski Resort

On Thursday, September 25, 2025, Keith and I went to breakfast at Scrambled.  It was pretty yummy.  Then we headed to Snow Basin Resort to see the leaves changing colors, in other words, "Leaf Peeping."

The sky was so blue and clear - it did not disappoint.

So Long Sundance Kid - Robert Redford Has Died...

Robert Redford, age 89, passed away on Tuesday, September 16, 2025 at his home in Sundance in the mountains of Utah a place he loved surrounded by those he loved.

After rising to stardom in the 1960's, he was one of the biggest stars of the 70's with such films as "All the President's Men", "The Way We Were",  "The Sting" and "The Candidate."  He won an Oscar for best director in the 1980's film "Ordinary People which also won best picture in 1980.  My favorite was in 1969, "Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid.

He created the Sundance Institute, a training ground and festival in Park City, Utah which took place for the last few weeks in January every year.  He wanted to create a category that supported independent artists who weren't given a chance to be heard.  Park City become a place of discovery for such unknown filmmakers as Quentin Tarantino.

His wavy blond hair and boyish grin made him the most desired of leading men.

Clearfield High School 50th Class Reunion

Friday, September 12, 2025, we attended my Clearfield High School 50th Class Reunion.  The last reunion I attended was the 30th Reunion.  We had just moved into our home in July 2005, and Keith and I had been asked to speak in our new ward that Sunday after the reunion.

The 30th Reunion was held at the Davis Conference Center.  The staff had plated the salads at 10:00 a.m. and I got violently ill with food poisoning as soon as I ate my salad.  We had to pack up and leave.  We missed the dinner and program.  Keith and I did speak in church that Sunday anyway.

I had a deja vu moment when brother Geibel called me on Thursday evening asking if we could speak on Sunday.  I was already a little anxious about the reunion.  I happily turned him down, even though Keith said yes he would speak. LOL

The freeway was a giant mess.  It took us over an hour to get to Syracuse, off the freeway, backroads, etc.  We finally arrived.  Thank goodness Jana had saved a few seats for us.  I got my name badge and we sat down.  Susan and Kim Westbroek, Robin Clayton Driggs and her husband, Shawna and Brad, Keith and I were seated at our table.  JoAnn and Rick sat at the table with Russ Zaugg, John and Lucy Thorpe, Thorpe, Todd Kemp and his wife, and Jeff Clifford.  The place was packed.

We started visiting with folks and taking pictures.

We got our food and drinks and ate.  There was a slideshow of pictures and also In Memoriam for those classmates who had passed away.  Then we went back to visiting and listening to the band.  The band was Kirk's daughter and his grandkids...waiting for James.  The name came from the youngest grandson who didn't speak a word until he was 6 and he hasn't stopped since!  So cute.

These are the folks who golfed earlier in the day.  There was a tour of the school on Saturday morning and then activities at the park.  We didn't go.  We met JoAnn and Rick for breakfast at Jeremiah's.  It was so fun.  JoAnn and Rick hadn't been there before and they were amazed at the size of the scones!

I am so grateful for my childhood friendships through adulthood.  Friends Forever!  We had such a fun weekend.  I have had so much fun reconnecting with so many friends.  There was a photographer there who took pics of folks in the different elementary schools.

A few people got in several photos, which was strange because they didn't go to that elementary school, but I guess that is what happens when you get old and senile!
