August Empty Nester's Potluck Dinner at the Preece's
On Monday, August 19, 2024, Keith and I hosted our empty nester's group at our home. We had 21 people in attendance and the food was fabulous! Keith and I did marinated chicken and I made funeral potatoes, as well as brownies. We had fruit, salads, desserts and so much food! It was a great time!
It was predicted to be a terrible rainstorm, but luckily the weather held out until after the dinner. Around 10:00, the wind kicked up, and the rain and hail came down. We were so grateful the party went off without a hitch!
A Fun Time Was Had By All!

Jarom Barker and Kimber Webb Wedding
On Friday, August 16, 2024, Jarom Barker and Kimber Webb were married in the Bountiful Temple. Their reception was in SLC. We are in St. George until late Thursday evening, so we did not attend. But we heard it was wonderful. Her family lives in Midway, so they felt like SLC was a good in-between meeting place, so they held the reception at her Aunt's home.
We wish the happy couple lots of love and happiness!

Fun Time with her College Roommates!
I finally got a text from Kamryn! She thanked us for coming and supporting her. She also sent a couple of pictures that she and her roommates took. I think they are going to be great friends.
Kamryn Bowers is in College - Utah Technical University
On Monday, August 12, 2024, Keith and I made our way to St. George, Utah. We stayed in the Olson's home in Hurricane. Our trip was to help get Kamryn settled in at Utah Tech University, formerly Dixie State College. Jamie attended 28 years ago, and Skyler attended 24 years ago. So crazy!
We decided to try taking the EV Truck to St. George. It took us 9 1/2 hours to get there. We had issues charging again.
We stopped in Parowan and visited my dad's grave at the Parowan Cemetery. We put up a wind spinner and boy did it spin!
My aunt Retta, my aunt Norine, and my dad are all buried in Parowan. My cousin Danny is buried there too.
We got to the Hurricane House, we unpacked our bags, and we had dinner. We visited and then went to bed. Kami and Jamie attended Freshman Orientation all day on Monday. They were so hot and tired.
On Tuesday, Jamie, Kamryn, and I got ready and left for the university to move her in. We spent almost two hours in line (in her car) and finally we got to move her in her dorm room.
The process was pretty slick; it just took so long in line. There were faculty, staff, and student ambassadors there to help the students move into the dorms. They had huge red bins that they filled up with the student's stuff and helped them take it to their dorm room.
We helped Kami get settled in her room. We hung up her clothes and put her stuff away. Her roommate came in a little later and we got to meet her and her family. They were really nice.
We finished up at the dorms and then we went to lunch so Bella could get her things unpacked. We were pleasantly surprised at how much room these ladies had in their suite. It is just like a new apartment with a full size rig, microwave, lounge area with a plasma TV. So nice. There are two showers and vanity areas as well as two toilet areas.
There is a laundry on their floor, and a kitchen with ovens, sink, refrigerators, places to sit and eat, etc.
There is a balcony with a couple of chairs so they can sit outside.
