Brother Scott Passed Away, Relief Society Summer Picnic, Lunch with Tarbox's...

The week of August 25 - 31 was a busy one.  Brother Scott passed away on Sunday morning 8/24/25.  I am so grateful that Keith and I were able to visit he and Nancy at the Care Center, where he bore a strong testimony.  Brother Scott has been such a loving presence in our ward for the past 6 years.  He made Keith and I scarves, which I will always cherish.

On Wednesday, August 27, 2025, we gathered at the Orion Building Bowery for our annual Relief Society Summer Picnic.  It was a lot of fun.  I can't believe I didn't take one picture.  I am really slacking!  We were worried about the weather.  We received two inches of rainfall on Tuesday/Wednesday and I wasn't sure we would be able to have the activity.  But rain or shine, we had 35 ladies in attendance and it was fun.

It was fun to hear the stories of the sisters who shared their recipes.  I shared the story of the lady who would always tell someone when they asked for her famous cookie recipe..."Over My Dead Body."  When she died, her children had the recipe printed on the back of her headstone.  One of my favorite stories.

On Thursday afternoon, Keith and I met Norm and Maurie Tarbox at AppleBees for lunch.  It was so good to see them.  Retirement sure looks good on Norm!  He was so happy.  Doesn't miss work a bit!  We enjoyed lunch and had a good visit. This was a hectic week, but fun also.  Keith and I need a nap!

Abe Harris and Kenya Kelley Get Hitched...

On Saturday, August 23, 2025, we attended the wedding reception of Abe Harris and Kenya Kelley.  Abe was a neighbor of ours for most of his life.  His family moved to Logan a year or so ago.  It was fun to see their family and catch-up with them (all ten kids).

The reception was at the American History Center in Wellsville.  A tractor pulled a wagon full of folks to the reception area.  It was fun to visit with other ward members at the reception.  Thank goodness there were fans in the reception area.  It was 98 degrees outside, which made for a hot day.  We are so happy for the cute couple.

Reno Kids Back to School

On Monday, August 11, 2025, our Reno grandchildren started school.  Skyler started First Grade, Miles is a Sophomore, and the twins are Juniors this year. Kamryn starts back at Utah Tech in St. George on August 20th.  Brady starts school on August 25th at University of Nevada-Reno.  I hope this is a good year for all the kids.

Flowers in the Yard

I love that our yard has so many colors with flowers and plantings.  It is sad when so many things have died off in the yard over the years. I took a few pictures of the different flowers in the yard - a few things are coming back with the cooler weather - if you can call 90 degrees cooler.  I love our yard with all of the beautiful plantings.

New Hot Tub - Bullfrog Spas

On Friday, August 1, 2025, Bullfrog Spas removed our old hot tub and installed a new hot tub.  Keith has been anxiously awaiting this day for a long time.  It has been over a year since we have been able to use the hot tub.  A pipe inside our 20 year old hot tub broke and could not be repaired.  So it was time to get a replacement.

We ordered the hot tub months ago, but had to wait until August (weeks after Keith's last nerve stimulator surgery) before he could get in the hot tub.

It was quite a process to take apart the old tub and remove it and then set up the new tub.  It took almost 5 hours.  We are looking forward to using the hot tub again.
