Brother Scott Passed Away, Relief Society Summer Picnic, Lunch with Tarbox's...

The week of August 25 - 31 was a busy one.  Brother Scott passed away on Sunday morning 8/24/25.  I am so grateful that Keith and I were able to visit he and Nancy at the Care Center, where he bore a strong testimony.  Brother Scott has been such a loving presence in our ward for the past 6 years.  He made Keith and I scarves, which I will always cherish.

On Wednesday, August 27, 2025, we gathered at the Orion Building Bowery for our annual Relief Society Summer Picnic.  It was a lot of fun.  I can't believe I didn't take one picture.  I am really slacking!  We were worried about the weather.  We received two inches of rainfall on Tuesday/Wednesday and I wasn't sure we would be able to have the activity.  But rain or shine, we had 35 ladies in attendance and it was fun.

It was fun to hear the stories of the sisters who shared their recipes.  I shared the story of the lady who would always tell someone when they asked for her famous cookie recipe..."Over My Dead Body."  When she died, her children had the recipe printed on the back of her headstone.  One of my favorite stories.

On Thursday afternoon, Keith and I met Norm and Maurie Tarbox at AppleBees for lunch.  It was so good to see them.  Retirement sure looks good on Norm!  He was so happy.  Doesn't miss work a bit!  We enjoyed lunch and had a good visit. This was a hectic week, but fun also.  Keith and I need a nap!
