He Lives - An Easter Open House

On Thursday, March 26, 2026, we attended the Stake's Easter Open House.  A Celebration of the life, sacrifice and resurrection of Jesus Christ through imagery, scripture and testimony.  This Easter the Pleasant View South Stake invited all to experience the life and eternal mission of Jesus Christ through a peaceful, guided open house.  Walk through rooms dedicated to key moments of His life-from His Birth to His resurrection and beyond.

Room 1 -  The Birth of Christ

Explore the eternal nature of Christ's mission - foreordained before the world was created, foretold by prophets for centuries, and fulfilled in the humble manger of Bethlehem.

Room 2 - His Earthly Ministry

Walk through the life of Jesus - His baptism, His teachings on the mount, His miracles of compassion and the Church He established to continue His work.

Room 3 - Gethsemane and the Atonement

Sit in the quiet reflection as the children's voices fill the room.  Pass by the La Pieta statue and ponder on the depth of His sacrifice.   This sacred space invites you to feel the depth of Christ's infinite sacrifice - made willingly, made personally, made for you.

Room 4 - The Resurrection

Stand before an empty tomb and let the hope of Easter wash over you.  Death is not the end.  Sunday always comes.  Because he lives, all will rise again.

Room 5 - His Influence Today

Discover how Jesus Christ continues His ministry through living prophets, scripture and the lives of those who follow Him.  Browse the displays, read the words of modern apostles and see Christ's influence in the Book of Mormon.

This was a sacred experience.

Mary Pankratz Bridal Shower

On March 21, 2026, Jana Hurst and I attended Mary's Bridal Shower out in Taylor.  A bridesmaid and maid of honor threw the shower for her.  It was very nice.  The girls made her a beautiful backdrop to stand in front of.  The shower was held at the home of the mother of one of her bridesmaids.  They had quite the spread: Pulled pork sandwiches, chips, veggies and dip, fruit, and dessert.  So nice and decorated beautifully.

It was so fun to see how happy Mary is to be getting married.  I am so excited for her.

March Book Club - I Hosted...

On Thursday, March 19, 2026, my book club gathered at my home for the evening.  The book we read was "Sakura, The Last Blossom" written by Micah Hirokawa.  Brother Hirokawa was gracious enough to come to our bookclub and bring pictures and share stories, sign books, and answer questions about the book.  It was such a fun night.

I served the Union Grill Chicken Cucumber Salad, Bread/Rolls, Fruit, Lemon Lasagna Dessert and Cucumber Cooler Punch.  I prepared cute goodie bags for the ladies.  I ordered Sakura Bookmarks, Book Club Babe Stickers, Japanese Cherry Blossom Hand Sanitizer and St. Patrick's Day Treats.

My friend Sabrina made Julie Frost a Barbie.  Julie was ecstatic.  Julie gave Sabrina two beautiful porcelain dolls in exchange.

It was such a fun night.

The Jolley's Temple Day-Sealed Forever

On Saturday, March 14, 2026, Sherry, Bob, and their 5 children were sealed for time and all eternity in the Ogden Utah Temple.  We were very honored to be invited to the sealing and dinner afterwards.  I had never been to a sealing where adult children were sealed to their parents.  What a dream come true.  Sherry has been very patient-waiting 57 years for Bob to be ready to take this step with her.

It was such a humbling sight to see Sherry, Bob, and their 5 adult children kneeling at the altar together and the group hug afterwards.  It was extra special for them because their anniversary is on March 15th.  There were several grandchildren there, some of which were able to attend the temple with their grandparents and parents.  After the sealing, the group met outside for pictures.  Then we headed to Maddox for a wonderful dinner.

We are so proud of Bob and Sherry and know that their lives will be blessed with this temple sealing.
