On Thursday, February 26, 2026, Keith and I dropped Rebel off at the groomers for a beauty makeover. He gets so excited to go for a ride in the truck or car. He was crying and yelping and jumping as I was trying to put his leash on him. He grabbed the leash like he was going to walk himself. He didn't let go of it, even when he was in the truck. Crazy dog! He sure looked cute when the groomer finished with him.
I prepared my March Secret Sister Gift for Taybree Lynn. I tried to put some fun things in that were green and St. Patrick's Day like. I feel like I have done pretty good so far. She has seemed to like everything I have given her (per her mom).
Jamie, Kamryn, and Alexis traveled to Los Angeles for five days for Alexis to compete in her cheer competition. The DeMonte Ranch cheer team won First Place! We are so proud of Alexis and her hard work!
On Thursday, February 19, 2026, we gathered at the home of Carma Davis for book club. We had a cute lady join our club-her name is Telisha Houston. Her aunt Shauna used to cut my hair back in the day. Small world. Carma went all out on bookclub. Chatgpt gave her some suggestions for what to serve and also gave her some pictures to print. It was so fun to see what Father Tim would look like - not as old young as I had pictured him in my mind. She gave us some fun goodies and we enjoyed being in her beautiful home.
On February 14, 2026, Keith and I celebrated our 48th Wedding Anniversary. We rested and didn't do much during the day. We went to dinner at The Outback in Layton. We had a nice dinner. It was pretty crowded and the server was brand new and did goof up our order, but all-in-all it was good. We came home and changed into cozy clothes and played Kismet. The Erickson's brought us a Valentine Care Package of cookies and kisses.
On Friday, February 13, 2026, Norm, Sherri, Amy, Jodi and I met at the Union Grill for lunch. Norm treated us all to lunch for our birthdays. He even came bearing gifts from Maurie - scarves she had made. We each got to pick out our favorite. I got to pick first because I am the oldest! LOL. Of course I picked the purple scarf! I made everyone Valentine brownies for dessert. It was so fun to laugh and catch-up.
On Sunday, February 8, 2026, Keith and I attended our church meetings. I had prepared seven layer dip the night before and then put the beans and little smokies in the crockpot before church. When we got home, I prepared the Meatballs, Veggies, and Chicken Tenders. We had a wonderful spread. The game was not real thrilling, but we were excited for the Seahawks to win the Super Bowl - too bad Minnesota didn't keep Sam Darnold. He really showed up and performed. It was a nice evening.
On Friday, Feb. 6, 2026, Jana, Lisa, and I went to Farr's for ice cream. The place was packed. We all got our favorite ice cream and enjoyed catching up. Jana also gave me Chocolate Marshmallow Hearts - my favorite. I am grateful for such wonderful friends.
On Wednesday, February 4, 2026, I turned 69 years old. Keith and I got up, showered, and went to the gym. I went to the grocery store and the library, and he went to Tremonton to get a haircut. While he was gone, Wilma, and Leslie dropped by some birthday goodies. Then Nancy stopped by to bring a few things. The night before, February 3rd, I had a nice visit from Sherri Cox. She gave me a card and a gift card.
Keith and I went to Farr's and got ice cream. We came home and played Kismet. Then we heated up some dinner. Lisa stopped by after work and brought me a Damn-It Doll! I got the mail and Jamie had sent some goodies. I also got a birthday card from Marcee and it had a birthday stamp on it. I had never seen them before. So fun!
Later in the evening, Lori Stokes dropped off a gift from the Relief Society and she also dropped off a lemon bundt cake. Yum! I am extremely blessed with generous, kind friends.
Sonja spoiled me with two more cute heart pillows that she made, with some additional hearts and a heart shaped wood bowl. So fun!
This morning, February 3, 2026, I delivered the February gift to my secret sister. I included a fun note with a pink rose bear, Valentine nerds, lip mask, and Valentine socks.
On Wednesday, February 3, 2026, I met Kathy, Becky, Tori, and Christy for lunch at the Olive Garden in Layton. We enjoyed a delicious lunch and for dessert for my birthday, I chose Italian Donuts with Raspberry Dipping Sauce. So good! It was fun catching up with everyone.
