On Tuesday, May 14, 2024, I flew to Reno to visit Jamie, Dusty, and the kids and attend Kamryn's Spring Showcase, her last dance recital in High School. She performed in 10 dances. She is an amazing dancer.
Dusty picked me up from the airport and took me to the house then he ran to the DMV to register Dax's car. Jamie took Dax to the ENT Dr., so I unpacked my stuff and got settled in at her house.
Everybody got home and we waited for the bus to bring Little Girl home. She was excited to see me.
Dusty grilled chicken and we had rice and chicken and veggie bowls. They were delicious. We relaxed in their beautiful backyard.
Wednesday, Jamie went to work for a while and ran errands. Skyler and I hung out. We colored pictures and played. She hung out in her underwear because she didn't have to go to school on Wednesday. This child does not like wearing clothes.
Jamie, Alexis, and I attended the dance recital night one.
Jamie took videos of all of the dances Kamryn was in. I took a few still photos. Kami sent me some photos that the girls took backstage.
Kamryn did a tap duet with Rose. They choreographed the dance themselves. It was great!
Kamryn did such a great job! It was so fun to watch her. We went home and relaxed.
We sat out and enjoyed the evening in Jamie's beautiful backyard. We heard Herbert all night long. A couple of frogs (very noisy ones) took up residency in their pond. They were so loud. It was really hard to sleep at night. Dusty caught one. The other one still made lots of noise.
Thursday morning, Jamie ran some errands. Dusty went to work. I sat out on their patio and read my book. Kami came home and Jamie helped her with her hair and make-up. Dusty brought home Papa Murphy pizza for dinner. Dax had baseball tryouts, so he got ready to go to those.
Miles and his friend JoJo stopped by to say hello! Brady stopped by as well. They came to support Kamryn for the first half of the dance recital. Thursday night's performance honored the seniors. Lexi watched Skyler and picked up Dax from practice.
The second night was just as magical as the first night. At least the second night I knew what to expect and knew when Kami would be dancing!
Sarah, Kaia, and Kamryn did a trio dance. So good!
After the last dance, Arabian Nights, Ms. Roybal honored the seniors. She gave shout-outs to each of them. It was very emotional for the girls, and guys.
The girls went with their team to In and Out to eat afterwards and hang out. I stayed up and waited for Kamryn to get home. She was so thankful that I came to see her dance. I am so grateful I didn't miss out on this experience. It was awesome.
Friday we hung out at home. Jamie had some errands to run and so did Dusty. The kids went to school. I did laundry and read my book. Later that afternoon, we went to dinner at the Cheesecake Factory while Dax had Baseball try-outs.
Little Girl runs hot all the time. She couldn't wait to take her shoes and socks off, and clean her toes.
On Saturday, we got up and got ready for the day. Skyler had two soccer games.
Skyler kept telling me she hated soccer. Then in the car on the way home, she said she loved soccer. I am not sure this is the sport for her. LOL
We hung out at home and then Jamie, Kamryn, and Skyler took me to the airport. I was sad to leave them, but glad to be going home at the same time. Little did I know that our plane would be overbooked. We sat on the tarmac for 1.5 hours while they asked for volunteers to get off the plane and take a Sunday flight home. I almost volunteered. We finally took off and I got home late. There is no place like home.
