Our Blue Spruce Has Died!

After 20 years, our beautiful Blue Spruce has died.  We called Mike Wood, an arborist, who checked out the tree to see if it had a boar or beetles.  It was inconclusive, but the tree just died.  Just two weeks before, the tree looked great.  Keith was outside with Rebel, when he noticed that the tree had lost most of its needles.  

Mike Wood came out and checked out all of the trees.  The other trees are okay for now.  But this tree needed to be removed.  So just a few days later, Mike's crew came out and removed the tree.

Keith and I had gone to run a few errands.  We came back and the tree was down.  I was sad that we didn't get to watch them take it down, but it was probably better that we didn't.  It is so sad to see the gaping hole and our neighbor's yard in clear view now.  We wanted privacy, that is why we planted them.

I was surprised at how fast the grinder would grind up the big tree trunk and branches. Such a sad day for the Preece's.
